Review Text
The album itself was born out of a frustration of life and a mutual understanding between the members of our group. It was simply titled 'The American Dream.' The album starts off with a bang and you are sure to enjoy it all the way through. We composed this album a piece of art, it is much like albums of old like Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', in the sense that all tracks flow nicely together. The reason we named it the American Dream is because it is about the birth and death of innocence. In a sense it is learning that your view of the world was only fantasy and life is once again foreign and strange. Upon this discovery there is a certain degree of anger and loss of self and identity. Our album takes a person on this ride and derives emotion from the listener. The end of the album ends with a glimmer of hope. The album was largely written beforehand by the members of Blu Simon. However in studio Composition Ugh was written and recorded as a live take because we thought this captured more of the feeling and emotion of the song. The recording process was long and arduous but we felt the whole time we are making a great album. We hope you will listen and enjoy and contact us to talk with us about it.
