National Hot Sauce Day! – Celebrate with these great spicy recipes

In case you didn’t know, today is National Hot Sauce Day! It seems like there’s a day for everything now, nonetheless, we think this is the perfect time of year to grab some wings, make some dip and enjoy an adult beverage as we sit down and watch some football. Below you will find recipes that are sure to set your game days apart from anyone else’s. Refine your recipes during the regular season then pick your favorite for the Superbowl! So, without further ado, here are our favorite National Hot Sauce Day recipes!
QUICK BITES
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Ingredients
- 1 pack Cream Cheese
- 1/3 cup Devil’s Hot Sauce
- 1lb Shredded Chicken
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- ½ cup Blue Cheese Dressing
- Tortilla Chips
Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a
bowl and stir. Spread in a baking dish, cook
at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Buffalo Chicken Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Devil’s Hot Sauce
- 1lb chicken or turkey meatballs
(can get in the frozen section at your local grocery store) - 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- ½ cup Blue Cheese Dressing
Directions: Defrost meatballs. Combine all the ingredients
in a bowl stir. Spread in a deep baking pan, cook
at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Sweet & Spicy Wings
Ingredients
- ½ cup General’s Maple Mayhem
- 1lb Chicken Wings
- 3 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoons Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/3 cup Cider Vinegar
- 1/3 cup Ketchup
Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a
bowl stir. Spread on baking sheet; cook
at 400 degrees for 45-50 minute or until crispy
Turn them over occasionally to brown both sides.
DRINKS
Spicy Bloody Mary
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Vodka
- 3 ounces Tomato Juice
- 1/2 ounce Lemon Juice
- 1 dash Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Celery Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Ass Blaster Hot Sauce
- Garnish: celery stalk and/or bacon
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher
or blender and refrigerate. Drink can be served
straight up or on the rocks (a.k.a over ice).
Michelada
Ingredients
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 teaspoon Ass Blaster Hot Sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Ground pepper (to taste)
- 12 ounces Mexican beer
- Garnish: lime slice
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher and refrigerate.
Drink best served chilled.
Harissa Blood Orange Margarita
Ingredients
- 4 cups Blood Orange Juice
- 2 teaspoons Harissa Hot Red Pepper Paste (In Stores Only)
- 1/4 ounce Lime Juice
- 1 shot (3 tablespoons) of Tequila
- 1 shot (3 tablespoons) Sour Mix
- Garnish: 1/4 ounce salt (for rim)
- Garnish: lime wedge
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice or can
be mixed in a blender. Drink can be served
straight up or on the rocks (a.k.a over ice).
