Synopsis

Charles Darwin was not only a naturalist, he was a visionary, who foresaw the implications of his revolutionary findings on the Galapagos Islands. This video chronicles the story of the young scientist who knew his theory of evolution would create a storm of controversy. Concerned for the welfare of his family, Darwin was hesitant to publish the results of his lengthy inquiry into the origin of the species. Subsequent events proved the validity of his fears; the resulting furor continues to this day. The film uses reenactments, along with excerpts from Darwin's journal, and scholarly commentary, to tell the story of this reluctant revolutionary. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, Rovi
