This album and the title track 'I Want to Live' are dedicated to the memory of 427's original guitarist Don Laurell, who died long before his time from leukemia. His presence can still be felt on the album in several tracks, particularly in the soaring guitar solo which he had written for Angeline. 427 isn't just another band. They are a group of friends and family, who share good times and bad with one another and with their community. In the very first track 'Black Swamp Kind of Town', you can hear the clapping of moms, dads, cousins, friends, kids, and adults in an impromptu party at the studio. It's this kind of fun-loving community that 427 represents and is proud to be a part of.
