Part
Portal, part
Quantum Leap,
Time Hollow puts a time-bending twist on the classic point-and-click
adventure game. Players take on the role of
Ethan Kairos, a young boy whose family has disappeared without a trace. But rather than solving problems to track down his family,
Ethan must learn exactly what caused the issue, and then manipulate time to prevent the problem from ever happening in the first place. He can accomplish this thanks to a rare and mysterious tool known as a Hollow Pen, conveniently embodied by the
DS stylus, which allows him to travel between the present and the past. The Hollow Pen is only available for use when all the proper information has been gathered, so a large portion of the gameplay involves piecing together clues about each incident by talking to a wide variety of characters. The game takes place over eight days, with each day lasting roughly one hour, and as
Ethan goes about saving his family he learns of another who possesses a Hollow Pen; one who wields it with intentions that are considerably less noble.
