Part of the series celebrating the music and nightlife of cities around the world, Petrol's The Sex, the City, the Music: Moscow is a collection of vodka-infused tracks that, at least in the opinion of the album's compilers, best reflect the vibe of the Russian capital. The music is all club-oriented, but it's focused more on downtempo chillout grooves than upbeat booty-shaking beats. Alexandroid's "You Killing Me" loops an electric guitar rock riff while MGI's "Les Chrysanthemes Mix" is jazzy and cool, and Dub Chairman's "Soldier" is wintry and comforting. It's a pretty decent album, with a nice vibe that continues throughout the entire thing, and a good introduction to what may be experienced in Moscow.
