The rousing, true-life story of a single dad who went from living on the streets to owning his own brokerage firm is brought to the big screen by superstar Will Smith, appearing for the first time opposite his real-life son Jaden Smith. A Father-and-Son Acting Debut.
Will Smith and his real-life son, Jaden make their first feature film together in this moving drama inspired by a true story. Smith plays Chris Gardner, a salesman, who was evicted from his apartment forcing both him and his son to sleep on the streets and in homeless shelters while he competes in a stockbroker-training program for a big insurance firm. This was the American film directorial debut of Italian film director, Gabriele Muccino. Also starring Thandie Newton, James Karen, Brian Howe, Dan Castellaneta, Mark Christopher Lawrence, and George Kee Cheung.
