Lynn Whitfield gives a magnificent portrayal the legendary Josephine Baker (1906-75), who rose from poverty in St. Louis to becoming famous in France with her scandalous banana dance in the 1920s and '30s to entertaining troops during World War II and taking on racism in her former homeland, the United States. A truly inspiration for future generations of Black Americans. With Ruben Blades, David Dukes, Kene Holliday, Louis Gossett, Jr., Craig T. Nelson, and Vivian Bonnell.
