George Armitage directs this big-screen adaptation of Elmore Leonard's The Big Bounce. Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) is an occasional thief who tends to a judge (Morgan Freeman). A woman involved with Ray Ritchie (Gary Sinese), a real estate developer of questionable ethics, seduces Jack. Ritchie and the judge are old enemies, complicating Jack's moral dilemma when the girls asks Jack to help her double-cross Ritchie. The book was adapted once before with Ryan O'Neal in the Owen Wilson role.

Owen Wilson steps into the role originated by Ryan O'Neal in the original 1969 film classic based on Elmore Leonard's classic novel. Wilson as Jack Ryan, a surf-slacking petty thief is coerced by a sexy, willowy beach beauty (Sara Foster) into helping her break into a wealthy builder's (Gary Sinise) house and steal a bundle from his safe. Also starring Morgan Freeman, Charlie Sheen, Willie Nelson, Vinnie Jones, Bebe Neuwirth, Harry Dean Stanton, Andrew Wilson, Gregory Sporleder, John-John Florence, Kala Alexander, Kelly Slater and Wendy Thorlakson.
