Simply amazing.
Two stars? Please. "The Ascension" is a great album. It's powerful, it's full of anger, it's full of sadness, it's just full of raw emotion and that's what makes the album great. I would certainly recommend this CD to anyone who is a fan of nu-metal.

What Otep should have been all along
Two and a half stars? I don't think so. This is what Otep should have sounded like all along. Well, actually, they've always been quite good in my humble opinion, but they always seemed to be missing something, a hook, an edge, a cohesion...they have it on this CD. Track for track it is heavy, it is introspective, it is haunting, and it is relentless. It is beautiful, and it is violent, poised, and confident, paced and precise, well thought out, and excellently executed. If you like Otep, you will love this CD. If you don't...welcome to the next level.
