The Internet's popular block-blasting puzzle series makes its DS debut with Super Collapse! 3. As in the computer version, the object is to quickly click on groups of three or more colored blocks to clear them from the playing field. After removing the requisite number of lines, players advance to a new screen with a different layout of blocks. If the blocks fill the screen, the game ends. Super Collapse! 3 on DS substitutes the mouse-driven interface with a touch-screen one, allowing players to tap on block combinations using the stylus.
The main aspect of play is the quest mode, which features ten themed areas filled with multiple game variants. Players will advance across a board in each area, landing on challenge spaces to earn coins. These coins can then be used to purchase power-ups and other extras, such as helpful bombs to obliterate adjacent blocks. Seven different challenges are available in total, including a puzzle variant that involves trying to clear the screen with a limited number of clicks. High scores, unlocked power-ups, and other settings are saved directly to the cartridge.
