Players are invited to recreate feudal Japan in Samurai Warriors 2: Empires as they take the role of a commanding officer and attempt to unite the 25 split regions of the warring nation. Gamers may select from 400 different playable characters or create their own military genius from scratch using a variety of customization tools. Combining action, strategy, and fighting, gamers will meet with a war council before every battle to determine which of the 90 historically accurate policy cards they will use to dictate movements politically and in battle. To complete each stage and win the game, gamers can forge alliances with rival clans and hire captured officers. Single-players can wage war in "Empire" and "Free" mode or view an archive full of are and information regarding the history and tactics of the samurai.

Recently I became a fan of the Samurai and Dynasty Warriors series, both titles appealing greatly to my taste in games. However there was one thing the old titles lacked: The ability to use strategy and make crucial decisions in battle and after the fact.
The Samurai Warriors Empire titles are just what I was looking for. The perfect blend of Fighting, Thinking, and Playability.
Several story lines and unlockable characters keep the game fresh as you play it again and again, as well as certain options being available to you after completing your first campaign.
You'll find yourself spending hours and hours on this enticing title. 5 Stars
