Madacy's Rock On 70s series is a low-priced roundup of popular songs from each year of the decade. The songs are wide-ranging and although they seem thrown together with little regard to context or pacing, they do a fairly good job of re-creating what 45 or so minutes of listening to a decent AM station would have been like. The volume from 1976 features songs drawn from country-pop (the Bellamy Brothers' "Let Your Love Flow"), disco (the Sylvers' "Boogie Fever,"Silver Convention's "Get Up and Boogie"), MOR fusion (Starbuck's "Moonlight Feels Right") and soft rock (Gary Wright's "Love Is Alive"). Despite the presence of many really good songs, at 12 tracks the disc is too short to be considered representative of the year or even a good purchase.
