Mixing giant robot "mechs" with traditional turn-based strategy, Mytran Wars drops players in the middle of an epic 23rd-century battle for resources. Having exhausted all of Earth's natural resources, the ruling conglomerates head off into space in search of new raw materials. But the planet they discover is inhabited by an equally advanced race, and the aliens want no part of a human invasion. Gamers can choose to join the humans and their mechanical robots, or dig in with the alien inhabitants to protect their homeland. Four single-player campaigns are spread out across 30 missions, and there are six different technology trees that offer gamers more than 250 researchable items. The game also features comic-style cut-scenes with fully voiced dialogue, and the various multiplayer modes let competitive gamers square off against one another.
