Jamey Aebersold's Music of Duke Ellington is essentially a Music Minus One package suitable for any musical instrument including of course the human voice. It comes with lyrics, a play-along book and "recording set." The great thing about this item is the caliber of musicians who perform the ten selected melodies composed by Duke Ellington. The trio of Kenny Barron, Ron Carter and Ben Riley would be suitable backup for someone like Sonny Rollins, James Moody, Charlie Rouse or Joshua Redman. This means that anyone could enjoy this recording without trying to participate in any capacity other than that of a dedicated listener. Let's put those names across once more for emphasis: Kenny Barron, Ron Carter and Ben Riley.
