Insane Clown Posse: Six Jokerz -- Unauthorized is an unauthorized biography of the band's career, tracing their beginnings in 1991 to their acceptance by the rap industry in 2000. The rap-rock sound of the Detroit-based band initially attracted a local cult following, but the market stimulated success for many bands and the group now attracts a nearly mainstream audience. The controversial yet campy group is sometimes compared to the rock band Kiss for their face painting and crazy antics, reminiscent of professional wrestling characters.
