The first persistent world RPG based on the Final Fantasy universe is available together with its first four expansion packs, including 2007's Wings of the Goddess, in the Vana'diel Collection 2008. Players will choose from five races and one of 20 jobs (the Final Fantasy equivalent of classes) before exploring the land of Vana'diel alone or with friends. One of the game's standout features is its cross-platform support, allowing PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and PC owners to experience the same content with one another. Each expansion pack fleshes out the world by introducing new jobs, storylines, quests, items, enemies, and areas. Final Fantasy XI Online requires a PlayOnline account and a monthly fee ($12.95 as of November 2007) to continue playing after the first 30 days.
