A Sentimental Melodrama.
A Star-studded cast enhances this romantic drama based on the book by Susan Minot. Vanessa Redgrave is a dying matriarch, who looks back in time to a beautiful life-changing weekend she spent as a young woman (Claire Danes). Toni Collette and Natasha Richardson are her daughters, who come to understand the unbreakable bonds between mothers and daughters and the loves of their lives. Also starring Patrick Wilson, Hugh Dancy, Eileen Atkins, Glenn Close, Barry Bostwick, Meryl Streep, Mamie Gummer, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
