The rebirth of a legend.
The first season of Dragonball Z is very long yet the action makes up for it. "Goku" the main character is absent from the living realm for most of the season due to his death at the hands of Piccolo. His sacriface shows viewers the extent to his ties to humanity even after finding out that he is an alien. Gohan, Goku's son, is seen as a weakling for the majority of the season until his sensei's death, Piccolo. The introduction of the saiyan race is without complication and gives full explanation to Goku's abilities. In short you will develop a bond with each of the characters in their struggle to protect their planet from the saiyan assult, what makes this DVD so special is its contrary to he english dubb and its insight into how violent DBZ really is.
