Overall is an okay buy for Contemporary R$B lovers.
MTV's "Making The Band 4" girls Danity Kane released their self debuted album, which was very popular among the MTV audience. However, Danity Kane did not fully satisfy their targeted listeners with this album. Their first hit single, "Show Stopper", gave the sense of an upcoming, new, eccentric, R B female band, when really the album is the complete opposite. The album is really more of a contemporary R B album that doesn't really meet the standards of the average R B listeners, with the exception of 5 songs: "Right Now", "Show Stopper", "Hold Me Down", "Ride For You", and "Sleep On It" (which is really a disappointment for those who watched the TV show). All the other songs can either be classified as "fillers" or "pop", which is not how they display themselves within their public image.
Another thing that really brings down the album is different producers' inability to let these voices shine together in harmony or grab the attention within the solos. Instead, you hear the same voices over and over and begin to think that this is really a 3-girl group (consisting of Andrea, Dawn, and D.Woods) as they push the other two stars Aubrey and Shannon to the side for backup. Not saying that this group's harmony is bad, but their display of it on this album could have been alot better. Along with the seemingly "pre-set production", and easy-to-forget songs, this album's promotion writes a large check that it simply can't cash by releasing singles that are the true and ONLY highlights to this album.
Overall, it is somewhat worth the price to hear the album, it just won't keep your attention as long as you expect it to.

The next EnVogue
This is one of the best female groups since EnVogue. They have this sound that is so irresistable that you want more. "One Shot" was the theme song for "Making The Band 3 (MTB3)." "Heartbreaker" has a little latin feel with the guitar. "Want It" is really oh... you'll have to listen to it. "Right Now" is my personal favorite and the best song on the album. Produced by Timberland, has this really gloomy sound which is so beautiful. The chords are unique and amazing. When I first heard of it, it took my breath away. Must listen. "Show Stopper" is really fun to dance to and has Young Joc. Really fun song. "Hold me Down" is pretty good. Not my favorite but it's good. The Interlude is just dumb. I'm sorry, even though I gave the album a 5-star, this and Ain't True Interlude is just stupid. Only Flaws. "Ooh Ahh" has a nice bass to it. Listen and you'll undersrtand it. "Press Pause" is just talking about how they want to press pause throug good and fast forwand through hard times. Talked about Ain't TrueInterlude already. "Ride For You" was their second single. Nice song, but didn't get the hype like "Show Stopper.' Lovely song though. Talks about how they'll ride for you. Self Explanitory. "Touching my Body" is fun song also. They performed this song when Diddy announced the members of the group. "Stay With Me" is this really dark song. Also my personal favorite. "Sleep on It' was ok. not my favorite song though but hey... one of the best female groups in a long time.
