Lansbury wins over her charges by performing various and sundry feats of magic. And, yes, she manages to foil a few Germans along the way. The film's most famous episode is an elaborate undersea fantasy, which combines animation with live-action on a gargantuan scale, dwarfing all previous
Disney sequences along these lines.

A Musical Fantasy Adventure.
This was one of a number of Disney productions released in the years following Walt's death in 1966. Set in World War II England, Angela Lansbury stars as Eglantine Price, an apprentice witch, who along with a smooth-talking "magician" and three cockney orphans travel on a magic bed (via animation) to a strange uncharted island inhabited by talking animals to find an amulet to containing the words to a magic spell to help England combat a Nazi invasion. Another brilliant combination of live-action and animation. The movie won an Academy Award for Best Special Effects. Also starring David Tomlinson, Roddy McDowall, Ian Weighill, Cindy O'Callaghan, Roy Snart, Sam Jaffe, Reginald Owen, John Ericson, Bruce Forsyth, and Cyril Delevanti.
